E-9's , Please us the correct dash between letter and number
Where do you get that from? There's plenty of examples for "E8" (and other units) without the dash even on EMD literature like the operation manual.Was the E9 special with the dash?Jason
Did the black model plates from EMD have a dash.............E9's were catalog passenger locomotive so no they were not special.
Ok...the original question?....Does the new K-a-t-o F-E-F-3 run, in D-C, with the K-a-t-o E-9-mechanism...?No.....as beautifully as the E8/9s DO run, with their 'frictionless' trucks...the new FEF-3 starts to creep at a much lower voltage...and runs more efficiently. I finally remembered this thread and put a number of E units on the rails together with the new Kato steamer.They just don't match up....DCC will be the only way to consist these to run beautifully together...~Bruce
