I have redesigned my basement layout using Bendtracker1 Little Rock plan as inspiration. Hope to have pictures later today. Old layout discussion here

My basement space is just slightly smaller then Bendtracker1's space, so I had to make a few changes in size but basically kept same concept. I need to figure out industry placement then I can put rest of foamboard down since there will be divider somewhere in middle. The far left peninsula will be home to a paper mill and maybe one other small industry. Far right will be yard/engine service area, with a small tail off the end. Thinking of a corn syrup transload because I have quite a few corn syrup cars and no where for them to go. Will also have grain silo, lumber yard, flour/grain mill, coal mine, aggregate business and printing company.

LMAO!
The LITTLE Little Rock line!  or  The Little DeJa vu!

The image didn't click until I seen the extension on the left of the layout.  This should be fun to watch.
makes me wonder if I make a change on my layout, will it change on your's?   :?

Good luck and keep the pictures coming!

No, I think it will stay. We have lived here 7 years now and I have had 3 different layouts set up here.  I think I now have something. This setup really works well with the available space I have.  In the right corner of photo is electric panel box that I have to stay away from. I need to get something up and running before my wife starts unloading all my stuff sitting in boxes, that I keep buying.

Work is progressing on the Hanover Sub, albeit on the computer only.  I've been communicating with Bob Sprague on helping with a design using the Hanover Sub as a base using the existing benchwork.  It's amazing what can be done with a few simple ideas and someone who has the ability to use track planning software  :D  Should have a track plan in the next few days to post.

Trying to locate some photos of the Hanover Sub.  I know there are a lot of members here that railran the area and just wondering if anyone has photos to share.  Looking for Emory Grove CSX/MMID interchange, Sweetheart Cup/Solo plant in Owings Mills (now demolished :( )  , Porters Sideling, Security and Hagerstown MD.  I have checked out the usual suspects rrpicturearchives and railpictures.net

Here's an update to include a recent track plan.  Mr Sprague is still working on some areas, so is still a work in progress.  But I'm beyond giddy so far

The MMID interchange is pretty boring actually. Everything you need to know about it can come from Bing maps:
http://binged.it/15Lag6N

Also, there's a tasty italian market right there: Santonis.

The one thing your plan is missing is the crossover halfway through the siding. It's required to give the crew the ability to do the interchange. If you flipped it on your plan, you could probably even do live interchange there.

If you belong to Facebook there are several good subgroups on Maryland railfanning and many photos as posted on the Hanover sub.

I don't know what it says about me, but I could have sworn this thread was titled, "CSX Hangover Subdivision."

Carry on.

Came home to an email from Robert Sprague with subject line : Complete .  I opened the email to find this...

I'm giddy just thinking about operating this.

Good thing I finished up my ballast train over the weekend, will make ballasting the track a breeze.

Be sure to check out what Robert is doing on his own layout, and check out other designs he has done at his website
