Images have been blurred to protect Peteski's design.  Thanks so much for your work Peteski!  It was really fun being a guinea pig on this! :ashat:

I think that these are the first censored photos posted to RW since EdFest '06.

Well, one photo had a bare PC board in it. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!

I love the censoring John - it makes my design controversial!  :D

Installment five... Making contact.

To get power to the circuit inside the roof, I drilled two holes in the front of the roof, folded them down and under the edge. I mixed up some epoxy and glued them in place with an effort to have the wires at the peak of the glue mass.  The next night I scraped the excess glue off the magnet wire to expose it.  I had to add some surface area to one wire for a better connection.

I revised the width of the contact strips in the front of the car to make sure the wires made contact as well and filed a lead in chamfer at the top:

The next two pictures show the roof being pressed into the car with a minor interference between the wires in the roof and the contact strips inside the car:

After connecting the power pack to the tabs underneath and turning it on, we have success in the dark! I need to black out the inside corners of the roof to hide the light leak, and paint the inside white for better light dispersion.

Hopefully paint this weekend for all of the cars, wish me luck on my first airbrushing project!

Very nice John!  Happy airbrushing!  Before spraying the model try painting few disposable plastic spoons first (for practice).   :D

Neat trick, and the friction helps keep the roof on.  I like something that does two jobs for the price of one.
