I have no idea why it is in that orientation, but I'm just going to roll with it.

Judging by the height and depth-of-field, I'm guessing an Iphone shot.   Same thing happens when I use mine, I have to bring it into photoshop and rotate it 180-degrees before I can post it on any forums.   It's one of those Apple vs. Microsoft things.

Thanks, I studied prototype photos for a long time to get the weathering patterns right. I especially wanted the Challenger to look like it was running out its last days.

I'll post this on the signal threads as well, but the 'next little thing' in the signal plan is to come up with a relatively scale-sized operating dwarf, as they are all over Winslow as well as sidings in my era.   Signal 2851 is the 'yellow board' dwarf beside SD24 4551 for Main 3 at Winslow, with the two previous targets in the background.   This is a BLMA etched brass head with a Miniatronics LED stuffed in it.    The YK unit coal train is passing east on Main 2, main 1 is clear west.

Yeah, it only happens some of the time with me. It was some stripper program that clears out all the metadata. There was some conflict where Apple uses the correct orientation data and MS does not...it's really strange.

Odd. I've never had it happen before. Oh well. It's good exercise for your neck.

For how expensive these cabs are, Athearn sure knew what they were doing by including a hole to feed wires through.  Zero modification needed, aside from just removing the plastic headlight part.

Cody:  My first thought was that you were modeling a lake, and that was a picture of the train reflected in it.  It took another look to see that it was actually upside down...

My digital camera would do the same thing if I held it upside down.  The photo orientation on it is determined by the camera orientation, not true vertical.  I assume your phone, like most modern ones, should determine its true orientation and adjust the picture, so maybe there's something not quite right in it.

I started another of my BCR locos tonight. This one uses an Atlas C630, a Briggs Models M630 conversion kit, and parts of a Briggs M420 to create an M630w.

So, some more stuff finished this weekend before I head back to Kuwait for the week.

Finished this SD40-2 conversion to a GATX unit.  My train buddy didn't want any details added because the rest of his fleet would look naked...  ;)

Another BNSF C40-8W with full details:

...and finally a few hastily weathered (and tagged) Intermountain Trinity 5161cf hoppers.  I swapped out the wheels with FVM metal sets. Still debating whether or not I want to go the body mount route with the couplers.

I still have a lot more on the bench if I'd ever stop traveling...  :|

Cheers,
Brian
I've never met a covered hopper I didn't like.... :)

Thanks Steve.

Here it is with the Doffasco truck conversion. Not sure if I misspelled it but it's an M630w

No modeling time as I adapt to baby 3 in the house. I did manage to give mom time alone with the kid while taking my girls out to Bill Fagan's and Ted McLean's open houses,

Even though I had a hardy laugh at this, you reminded me of an article I saw somewhere where a B60b baggage car was painted in two different schemes. One side was a late scheme, the other side, an earlier one.
You can't see both sides unless you use a mirror.

I believe that was Bill Denton.

I've done it rushing to get stock ready for an exhibition. Paint/letter/weather one side and both ends. The other side is never seen by the public so they're none the wiser. But you have reminded me that I should go back and finish those...

Craig,

The M-630W is looking great!  Let's see: Atlas C-630, Briggs Dofasco truck kit, Briggs M-630 conversion kit, Briggs M-420 kit for parts and, presumably, an ESU Loksound decoder!  I would need to re-mortgage the house for a project like that.

You will have to get out to Vancouver one of these years - preferably in early November for one of the annual "Trains 201n" shows - and spend a weekend with the PGE-BCR Modellers group out here!

Cheers,
