Aw, I got my hopes up, but it appears that these cars are too new for my 1980s layout. I could really use another LPG car or two.

I've had some from earlier runs and they were great - picked three up tonight.
I sure hope the QC people were working on these...

Dropped by the LHS today and had four waiting for me, plus two spartan PD3000's. Not a cheap trip, but beautiful cars.

Couldn't last long enough for me to go from work, where ordering is verbotten, to home. Wow. For such a popular car, previous runs have not gathered any dust either, Athearn must not have made too many. Also hoping MB Klein can get more in stock.

I wonder why BLW doesn't stock Athearn? Because they don't have a "brick and mortar" shop?
I don't know if BLW doesn't sell as much as MBK or if Pete just orders more but things tend to stay in stock longer there. Like years sometimes. Not that these LPG cars would hang around that long...

I can't say more, but I believe it has more to do with Pete not wanting to carry Athearn than the other way around.

Pete used to carry Athearn when they first came out with N Scale stuff. When Horizon bought Athearn, they changed the rules for purchasing and if you didn't have a brick n' mortar presence, well you got tagged with a lot higher requirment and the sales terms were/are not very friendly.
I know a few shop owners that did some very "interesting" things with the disposable cameras Horizon sent them to verify their shops...
