Looking for Union Pacific Trainworx Quad Hoppers

Anyone know of any shops or vendors that have Trainworx UP hoppers?  I am very late to the party for these cars, but I am hoping some are around, new or gently used. I am interested in any version, except the silver and yellow scheme.  Thanks all!!

Check with Trainworx directly. He might have some floating around in the warehouse.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I wrote Trainworx and Pat Sanders very promptly and politely responded, but unfortunately with the news that the warehouse is bare of UP hoppers. :(.  It obviously was wishful thinking, but you never know unless you ask!  I will have to keep my eyes on the auction sites and train shows.  I came way to late to the party for these.

I come across these from time to time.  Shows, eBay, etc.   So just keep looking they'll turn up.   Great cars.

Like this?

Just like that!  I have seen this, but I hate buying just 1 car at a time.  But beggars shouldn't be so choosy, right?!

Thanks for pointing this out.

I would exercise patience if possible.  This auction isn't ideal...only one--so no break on shipping--and priced on the high end.    "Train show season" is upon us and the opportunity will be there.   Also, eBay usually gets a little more fruitful in the fall/winter.   If you'll PM me with your info I will keep an eye out and let you know if anything shows up at the local shows here in the North Texas area.   I've seen them for as little as $10-15, but usually it's $15-20.

Well a quick check of Spring Creek Model Trains shows UP in stock.  I wish that I would have hung on to the 6 kits that I sold about a year ago.

FYI - Stopped by my local shop (Hobby Haven - Urbandale, IA) and saw several of the Trainworx UP Hoppers in stock as well ($24.95 each).

The Trainworx hoppers are very nice, but their prototype is the D&RGW hopper in the photo below, not the UP hopper.

cfritschle - That UP hopper looks closer to an Ortner hopper like the prototype Southern hopper.  Some modelers take the Red Caboose Ortner 5 bay kits and remove the middle chute to get a semi accurate look for the Southern hopper.   I have the Trainworx cars and they are a very good representation of the NS H-62R hoppers.  I want to run mine empty sometimes so I removed the bulky weights from the inside and added weight in the gaps on the bottom between the chutes.

I have considered modifying the Ortner hoppers to try to approximate the UP Bethlehem quad hopper, but Tangent makes the proper prototype for the UP quad hopper in HO.  https://www.tangentscalemodels.com/bethlehem-quad-hopper/

So, I am hoping that BLMA will eventually bring it to N scale.

nsbob:  Lately I've been seeing D&RGW hoppers at the oal docks along the Big Sandy River, reinitialed for some company I don't recognize.  Other than the reporting marks the lettering is all there, including the big Rio Grande herald.

nkalanaga:  I know that the Reading Blue Mountain Northern (RBMN reporting marks) purchased several of these and did not repaint them.  They possibly could be in that area because they use them to transport anthracite coal out of PA.  That could also explain why they recently purchased several former PPLX three bay hoppers to expand their fleet.  I see a couple of their hoppers on most of the manifest NS trains heading south from Lynchburg, VA so someone is using anthracite coal in the southeast US.  It would not be unusual to see NS power moving RBMN coal hoppers since it is a common sight in PA.
