It seems to me that the N scale discussions are healthy enough not to be mixed with other scales.

So now I have go to multiple boards and sort through anywhere from 2 to 7 or more scales to find N scale recent topics and product info.

I can't say I am a big fan  :?

I use "Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit" at the top of the screen under the banner.  Minimizes what you have to wade through.  The change in the forums doesn't affect navigating TRW in this manner.

I don't like the new changes either.

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

"Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit"

No such thing as this showing on any of the pages I try.

The email that was sent out was about "A new board will be created called Product Announcement and Reviews." and I think it could be a good thing, especially so if folks are trying to learn about how good a new product is.

Hmm... looking at the new forum I see a lot of the posts that were on this one has now been moved and I hate to say it but it will be a bit more inconvenient to have to go to two different forums within the same site to catch everything.  I hope that something better can be worked out somehow.

The number of Z scale modeling threads we've had here has been miniscule, so the N&Z modeling board will remain predominantly N.   If the product discussion board gets too crowded with multi-scale cross-talk we'll fix it, but it's likely to remain 90+% N scale.

The intention of the re-org is to rebuild Railwire's focus on modeling.

I thought this forum had its roots in n scale??  I can sort through the N & Z modeling topics if I have to but I don't like having all scales announcements and reviews lumped together.  I could care less what HO products are coming out and what people think of them.  If all these non N scale topics are such a small percentage than put all of them in one board or eliminate them all together.  N scale is what it's all about!  Was there a poll I missed on this idea?

This is not the cheese you're looking for.

I just read that not too long ago.

As did I. It was required reading for a position for which I was applying. I found it to be an interesting exercise in critical reasoning. It's full of classic logical fallacies to the point of being laughable. The only thing that's funnier (or scarier) to me that the story itself is the number of people who "take it to heart" not realizing that it's a scam.

If we used polls to decide what changes to make, we might never reach a consensus, as there would be endless bickering debate, and we'd never be able to satisfy everyone anyway.

As it is, we'll still have endless bickering debate, and we'll still never be able to satisfy everyone, but at least we got the job done.

I was just wondering if I missed a poll seeking insight.

Could we at least split product announcements and reviews into N/Z and HO and larger like you have the modeling topics set up?  I stopped buying from a shop on a regular basis because all their new announcements are all lumped together.  HO drowns out N scale to the point I was sick of looking for one item in ten.

There just isn't enough HO and Z modelers here to create enough product posts to drown out N.  In the future, if it changes and becomes unruly, then yes, separate product announcement boards will be created.

The reason why the product announcement board looks Z heavy is because I moved *all* the z product announcements over, but haven't really seriously started with N yet.
