Great photos.  The reason for these shrouded locos was that a standard steam loco with reciprocating valve gear spooked horses that were everywhere before the days of trucks.

But all of these locos have motors in them - they're no dummies!  :D

Camouflaged maybe - but don't call them dummies.  They would get really upset if they knew someone called them dummies.
