Hello all,

Another run of the PRR R50B reefer kits is pending soon. I just inspected 20 shells and they are looking very good.

There will be no order quantity restrictions this time, but it will take us some time to print decals, build up parts inventory, and put together the kits contents. Not sure how many will be in this run total, but it should be well over a hundred.

Please do not order the kits on my email site before I announce that they are ready, because I am not monitoring the email.

Still wrestling with other priorities.
More news and timing shortly.

Best regards,
Michael Livingston

Is there going to be a way to pay without emailing my credit card info?  I'd like one or two...
Cheers,

Yes, call GHQ and give it to them over the phone.

thbguy, first, I hope all is well with you as I have not seen a post from you in some time.

What is the status of the second run? On or Off? There is a lot of internet conjecture regarding this re-run and much interest with FB PRR modelers who missed the first run!  The model is getting high praise for accuracy and build-ability and some completed models are spectacular.

Sales and Quality seem to be a recipe for success so let's keep it going!

Chicken45, Did you replace any other cast-on details besides the grab irons?

Hello all,

I am hopeful that we will be able to get another run of these car kits out before the month of June (yes, this June  ;)).
I'll post another message on or before May 15th with an update. I'll let you know how these will be sold, who to pay, etc., etc...

My wife starts a new weekly chemo regimen on the 13th. It might have an effect on my availability.

Josh, you did an awesome job on the R50B kit!

Kind regards,
Michael Livingston

Thank you Michael!  Godspeed to your wife and her health.

This is great news.  Josh's turned out so perfect that I want more than the one I have.

Thank you for your prompt response in light of your family needs.

Hey Michael,

Hope things work out for your family. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you!

Thanks for the compliment! Let me send it right back at ya! It was an outstanding kit. Well done.  I think my model will make it in to The Keystone Modeler since it was at the convention. Someone moved it so I know they were posing it for pictures. I'm marveled by your casting skill.

Chicken45, Did you replace any other cast-on details besides the grab irons?

Yeah, I used a different brake wheel because one of the GMM ones was just a wee bit closer. I also think I used Microscale decals left over from some HGM kits for everything but the car number and ends since I did a later scheme. My set of decals were just a touch weird where it looked like it had a copper drop shadow. In the end, once it was on the model and weathered, it wouldn't have been a problem. I also added the grab irons by the ladders and roof walks.

Sorry to hear about your wife.  Take care of her, the kits can wait.  I will pray for both of you.

Hello all,

Time for an update on run #2! We went through a quality check on the casting and over 200 are excellent. A further 14 castings fall in the missing a stirrup category, and will be offered at a discount for people who want to remove the cast on grabs add their own wire grabs.

Here is a picture as we finished:
.

So the castings are good and we will be making and collecting other components and start building them into kits; that is the etch, trucks, decals, cutting roofwalks, etc. The goal is to have this run ready for sale and delivery by the end of this month. We will be working closely with GHQ to coordinate the actual transactions and shipping, but they do not have information about this special run, so please do not contact them with questions.

I will provide more info about pricing, how to order, and other details at least a week's notice prior to the sale.
More to come soon!

My wife's first chemo session has had mild side effects, so we are moving full steam ahead for now.

Kind regards,
Michael Livingston
