.... they can sell lots of those oddball models!

I'm only buying one oddball, if they did a K4 or H10, 4 of each minimum and depending on the variations I'm sure more. So would the Pennsy guys who would buy multiple units of Ks  and H's out number the non Pennsy guys who would only buy one odd ball unit?
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I'm still worried BL will pull the rug out from under us and tell us later that the M1a and M1b models will have different variations. Don't want to have to worry about altering my reservation at a late stage.

On BLW's page for the M1, they have already announced that all previous reservations were canceled.

When Pennsy freak-ness turns to certifiable insanity....
A centipede? Really? A DOUBLE-HEADED centipede? That would be what, 200' scale feet long? On multiple close-spaced wheels? On YOUR layout? You better have "Recommended radius is 22" but that's just enough to twist those locos around on the curve and not derail.... and still look ridiculous. Really, who'd run a 200 foot loco on anything less than 40" (even 48") radius? Pulling a bazillion cars? This definitely, for the sane person, would be a N-track mega-module runner only.
However, for Pennsy freaks ...

For me it makes perfect sense :). See Youtube video.

The engines have been repowered and can handle a radius of 10" without any problem. However, they start to look good from about 15" radius. PS the shuttering in the video is the upload to Youtube, not the engines.

Yep, different catalog numbers. The main thing is that they're all going to be DCC-Sound now.

I called Factory Direct Trains re orders placed under the "old" catalog numbers, but the main guy (Joe) was already gone. Will try again tomorrow.

Cheers,

All right ... with this avalanche of Pennsy-specific stuff coming out, we get to see how much the SPFs buy up. They've been complaining for years about not having PRR equipment, so here's their chance to pig out and really deplete the stocks of these products.
Also ... with this big splash of Pennsy stuff wouldn't it be a great time for other manufacturers to re-issue their Pennsy stuff and jump on the bandwagon? Bowser Gla's come to mind, as well as the N5cs....
considering a lot of the BLI stuff won't be here for a year, should be enough time to make new castings from the dies already made?

Well, here's the counter to that argument.  When it all hits the shores at once, I'll have to make some very painful decisions with respect to what I leave on the shelf.  Had BLI delivered 10 years ago when they first announced, I was prepared to buy two.  Now, probably just one by preorder and then pray there isn't an overpriced aftermarket.  And, given that I model east of the Curve in 1956, I can afford to pass on the Centipedes.

Speaking of Centipedes, that minimum radius of 22" was probably unavoidable given the design of the prototype, but that's going to rule out a LOT of home layouts.  By comparison, the Juniata Division has a maximum 15" curve, not counting spiral easements.

Still, I'm very, very grateful for the sudden apparent windfall.  Here's hoping it materialized this time.  And yes, I am in dire need of more H21s and GLas!

For this bounty I make the sign of the Keystone, in the name of the Curve, the Slope, and the Four Track Main.  Amen!

You must have missed this post earlier... Heads up SPF's Bowser rerunning PRR H21a's
Implied in Bowser's Facebook posts were that there were multiple N scale projects.  Although they still show Post-PRR N5's in stock so who's to say what the new projects are.

I believe the 22" Minimum radius on the Centipedes is a bad cut and paste from the HO description. Most of the N scale release pages have some sort of HO related error on them. The hoppers mention metal wheel sets capable of running on Code 100, 83, or 70 rail.

I confirmed with BLI that the 22" min. radius is a mistake leftover from the HO version.  They said the N scale minimum recommended radius will likely be 9.75".

I think that is to be expected. The original is already quite flexible with all the separate trucks, so why shouldn't the model be.
