Haven't touched the trains in a while  :|  so I forced myself down to the basement...
Installed the other side fascia and gave both side a coat of paint:

I had forgotten about this layout (or I can't keep track of them all  :ashat:).   The overal look is great, especially how the buildings make up a believable city space.

"Sha-wing!"  I think my favorite scene is the junction that many thought looked good on paper but questioned whether it would fit on the layout.  Nice work, Chris.

 :D

So I spent most of the day running in circles... Got the urge to work on the feed mill for the rural side of the layout. Long ago I drew this little sketch sorta showing what I wanted:

The mill would be scratch built, but you see the co-op shed at the back. I bought the Walthers kit a while ago. Spent about 2 hours looking all over for the bagged kit, almost just ordered a new one and then I found it   No pics because right now it is the same kit everyone has.

Then I started thinking about the feed mill and found the AMB Hinkle mill:

The trackside of the mill is interesting and I like it because it is 3 stories tall just like the one along the Erie main in Sharpseville, PA

So I find some N scale photos online and reverse a few to fit my space and start printing them out so I can try and scale them into a drawing. Worked on this for a little while and then just sat there with a deer in the headlights look. There are drawings of this exact mill in RMC

Simply scanned the drawings, flipped them, and printed. Well either way I finally spent a whole day back in the basement working on the layout. Ordered some clapboard sheets and some Tichy windows. Will post pics when I have something to show  :D

he's back, he's back! At last -- now my 3 favorite construction threads (this, Fells Point, & CMR/Juniata) are all running again.
Now I can read them and not have to work on my layout....

Well it doesn't look like much yet, but here is the feed mill:

It will have some interesting roof angles and such. Along with some RIX feed bins out back. It will also be up on a foundation when done.

That's going to be a great looking structure Chris.  I got the same warning message on my build thread.   :P

It's fun to scratch that itch when it comes up.  :ashat:

More progress. Hard to see the details in a sea of white, but it's coming together.

Need some current over-view shots of each side of this layout.

Friggin' sweet, Chris!  Now come build my structures for me, so I can get rid of the foam and cardboard stand-ins.   ;)
