Now that you say that it does kinda look like a "V" in there, but I'm done. Plus available would be a longer word, throwing off my chi  :P

You didn't cut it apart to fit in the bays? You're slipping Chris.

ACTually... :ashat: ...it would be more likely that the signage would have been painted on the masonry. Paneled signs prepared in a shop with a machine (or computer) doing the artwork and then hoisted into place are obviously a recent phenomenon. Back then the sign painter was paid the same whether he was on the ground or up in the air on a pulley scaffold, so why buy all that extra material? For his convenience and safety? Say what?

IOW, decals. Now that we're thinking about it, Chris, for your next period building signage it would be a good time to try a decal.

EDIT: Looking at the original photo, my gosh, that's exactly what they did - the sign is on panels and hoisted up. I guess "the boss" decided there wasn't enough space on the façade for a decent sign. Dodged a bullet, did we? :D

Cool. What's more amazing is how many of those jewel cases on the shelves hadn't moved. :D

Seriously Chris, this is a level of craftsmanship that many of us can only aspire too. It really is a thing of beauty, and deserves to be on the cover of magazines.

There are some subtle differences in those cases - take a careful look.  :D

Chris, you are master of realistic modeling. The arrangement of the buildings and the muted colors are done just right to look very realistic. And none of that George Sellios FSM layout clutter.

I agree, the layout is museum quality.

Hear, hear.  Looks like brawny heartland America as seen in Life, not like Sellios's dustbowl Dickensian fantasies.

Proof positive that the less you compress, the bigger the layout looks, and having tracks, roads and buildings running parallel and perpendicular to the front edge has no negative effects whatsoever.  :)

IMO, Chris is one of the greatest N Scale, if not any scale, model railroad craftsman I have ever seen.
No hyperbole.
He models exactly the right amount in all detail and feel to look completely real.

One thing that is absent on Chris' wonderful layout are people figures. But more often than not seeing N scale figures on a layout destroys the realism (since they look like plastic people). I have a feeling that if he populated it with people, it wouldn't look as realistic I like it just the way it is.
