Since I use a laser, plywood und basswood is a great material and I like the effect of stained wood for models even though the grain is exaggerated.

Back to the topic. I used regular white cardstock for my window frames. Unfortunately with the laser I cannot get under 0.6mm for the muntins or the paper goes up in smoke. This would be a problem in N scale but I can live with in HO.

With my Silhouette cutter, I've been able to do 2.4" (0.015"/0.38mm actual) muntins in cardstock:

And 2" (0.013"/0.32mm actual) muntins in 0.005" styrene:

Sorry I don't see the problem.

Well, it was not how deeply the windows are inset into the brick surround.  That didn't bother me. I grew up in Poland and I am familiar with masonry buildings with very thick walls.  That results in a totally different look than most American wooden structures. :)

What bothered me is how far the laser-cut brick trim protrudes out of the wall.  To me that is way too far. The shallow lighting angle exaggerated that (by casting long shadows on the wall).

After seeing that that bridge in the WU, I decided to post here instead.  ;)

I started building this thing. I made some modifications from what Lemo started. Different siding below the windows, and thinner trim around the windows (.0208 x .0208). I also did some tinkering with the windows and doors. I took digital swatches of Polly Scale Ages Concrete and Roof Brown and color matched them to my doors and windows. I put a little fade in Photoshop. Still a long way from being done, but I think it's looking truer to scale a bit. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Again, let me point out that I will be building another station after this, but out of styrene.
