Krylon should be just fine on plastic.

I have not used the red primer but I have used a lot of the ruddy brown and it works just fine on plastic.Krylon also has a line called Fusion which is specifically for plastics.

I have also used  the Ruddy Brown Primer from Krylon.  It's generally safe on plastic, but can craze some styrene if applied too wet.  It seems to depend on the quality or exact formula of the plastic, so I'd use caution with any new material.  For instance, in N scale, Micro-Trains cars paint fine, but the old MDC/Roundhouse black plastic was quite sensitive.

I usually spray a few light coats of the cheap Walmart flat white on the black plastic MDC/Roundhouse cars.If you got one of the brown or gray plastic cars you usually don't have that problem.
