No, I suspect it's modeled after the grain corn that's grown in abundance in southern Illinois. Not sweet corn. :ashat:

Sour mash!  Some trees at the end of a cornfield with a still and some  barrels!
Now we're modeling a scene! :D

I'm sure somebody here will want specific height, hybrid variety, ears up or ears down, stubble, pre-and post-tassel... and the fact that the ears are off by .00625 to proven dimensions of a scientific sampling, and also to indicate that 1950's typical corn can't be properly modeled by 1980's practices as it should be smaller....i.e. another C-55 vs C-80 debate just in the making!

Aw Shucks, I'll bet Craig's Ears are burning. I'm sure there is more than a Kernel of truth to the fact that he is outstanding in the Field of affordable model kits. I'll bet he keeps his brow Furrowed and his hands to the Millstone until the kits are ready to be Picked form the shelf. He is probably cultivating the Seed of a new idea Germinating in his melon as we speak.   :D

Greetings all,

I would like to continue grinding along the grain of this corn bread (I mean thread) and , well shucks, I look forward to seeing some pictures pop up.  I've been silently stalking this corn thread and I am sure to harvest an idea ripe for picking.    I would say more but I might get an earful from those who might have been out standing in their field.  Having a midwest layout I could combine this with my barn, silo, John Deere tractors, cows, and farmhouse and have a decent looking spread without plowing a lot more money into it.    I'm just afraid now I might reap what I sow as I got up at 5 the last 4 mornings and I think I'm getting a little silly, but I'm sure you grits that idea after reading this far.

Living in Illinois you could by fresh corn from roadside stands.
Now living in NC I hear tell you can by it from people's trunks. :o

I could possibly be sent to the "punitentiary" as punishment for my puns.

I do seriously think this is a good idea and would be interested to know the estimated cost, where I can buy this, and how many per pack as this gets closer to production.

Hoping we can all live in hominy,
Bob

That certainly was an earful, Bobster.  You have an ear for corn puns. A-maize-ing. I declare you the winner!

Surprised that this has make it to two pages without anyone insisting on wanting Pennsy corn (actually the Pennsy corn variety 4, known as K4).

Please don't hurt me...
