My PRR units have 2 portholes.

With large number boards too?

That's what I'm finding pictures of.

Weird.

That was my recollection, the Pennsy units had large number boards, which is why I assumed Kato hadn't made a small number board shell (my mistake).

Anyhow, was stoked about the CNW units, till I found they were retired in 1958, I'll probably get them anyway, as long as the paint is decent.
I’m not here to argue

So I talked with someone at Kato about these.

It is the same shell but with dual headlights.  Minor tweeks have been made to make it current to the newer parts like Kato couplers instead of Rapidos.

There was no digital drawing of the original shell, so they sort of went with modifying what they had.

I asked about the RI unit and the Steam Generators (it shouldn't have them).  There's only two molds for the roof so it was either a SG or DBs.  Neither option is correct.  Easily removed.

I asked about the CNW paint scheme, specifically the stripe over the roof.  All the diagrams I've seen have the stripe curve with the windshield and come to a point.  He said 'it depends on the time frame'.  I'm still dubious on that one.  Not sure what's up with the green stirrups either.
