Anybody else seeing site performance problems?
« on: December 05, 2013, 12:09:50 PM »
Is it just me (...tho' I don't think so...), or is anybody else having click turnaround issues with TRW? Sometimes there's no response at all, sometimes a partial response that takes 20-30 seconds to finish the page.

If other sites weren't responding immediately for me I wouldn't have asked.  :(

Might be a little slower, but no problems loading pages.

For me it is intermittent - most of the times it is ok, but sometimes it responds very slowly. Sometimes it just hangs "contacting therailwire.net".  I have to hit stop, then cry to repeat whatever I was originally trying to do.

Yep... that's exactly what I'm seeing, Pete. For me it has improved somewhat since this morning.

Let me know the times this happens and I can see if the delay is due to a sudden increase of traffic or a delay due to a non-responsive database or something.

Unlike rrpicturearchives.net, where site performance issues are 24/7/365.

Mike:  I've noticed that.  Wonder if it's design issues or traffic volume?  Sometimes I can get right in, other times it won't open at all.  Seldom just slow, it either works or it doesn't.

On my laptop with windows 8 no issues but I do find the site slightly slower on my ipad but it is an ipad.
Working on a early 90's ALCO powered short line.

Problems tonight (3/20/2014, 8:00 pm CDT). Slow on each page, header image doesn't finish, perpetual progress wheel with status "Transferring data from www.therailwire.net...".

Other sites no problem, same issue on two different ISPs.
