Thanks for adding the Kato 4-6-2 to your site. I've got spookshow on my favorites bar so I can get there in a hurry :)

Thanks for all the help!

Good info, but the political ad at the bottom left me a bit disapointed.  (I'm one of about 43 people in America that still likes Obamacare).

 :?

I got an ad for discount tires...  I'm guessing Mark doesn't choose the ads.

Which is why I kept getting ads for Subaru XV Crosstreks here long after I bought one (traded in the Constang).

Two weeks ago, to go with our new walk-out basement, we bought a hot tub (another iconic Colorado thing I guess) and I bought EZ Pads as a base for the tub.  Now all I get at TRW are EZ Pad ads.

But I don't remember searching for tires...   :?

I clear my cookies at least once a week. Sometimes once a day.

I've been known to toss my cookies, once in a while...  :)

Thread drift...

I had to temporarily turn off my Adblock Plus to see the ads, to see what you guys are talking about.
I don't see ads anymore.  I don't miss them.

As others have pointed out, the ads that pop up are different for everyone (based on Google's Big Brotheresque analysis of your computer's web browsing history). I think the content of the page enters into it too, as I'll often see ads for Chevy Trucks on my various truck pages.

Sorry for the annoyance, but said advertising does help pay my web hosting costs (not to mention paying for all of those expensive locomotives I have to buy for review purposes). If you're using Adblock, you're not helping out the cause  :|

I wonder if there might be other Japanese-based prototypes what would quailify for inclusion into your site, such as the little 4 wheel steeple cab electric. The criteria for including the C55 and this little guy would seem to be about the same...?

Yes, Pandora's Box is open now and I do plan on adding a lot more European and Asian prototype locomotive models to my encyclopedia. It's gonna take a while, though. They've been pretty busy over there the past 50 years  :|

Note that when this was written, the manual included a photo of Kato C-57 Pacific #2007,and noted that it was one of 4 versions available. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't give the item numbers for the other variants.
You might think they were the # up to 2011,but a D-51 Mikado #2009 proves they weren't consecutive...
Regards,
Jim R.
Jim,My 1990 Kato Catalog shows four C57s. The basic #2007 and a 2007-1,2007-2 and 2007-3. Obvious differences are smoke deflectors
and the -1 has a spark arrestor? on the smoke stack and a longer rear overhang on the cab.

I lump the UK in with Europe. It's all "over there" from my perspective  :D
