A week or so before the Conrail split, I took this shot of an eastbound Three Rivers (?) passing one of Big Blues' ubiquitous SD50's at the Cresson, PA., engine terminal. This trip marked the last time ventured to the West Slope... without CR, there has seemed little point and it's hard to believe it's been over 14 years since I took this shot. I've always thought that the big 50 seemed to be pondering the uncertain future on this rainy day:
To me, the SD50 is synonymous with CR more than any other diesel.
