Source for small n scale motors?

Does anybody know of a source for small motors suitable for N scale? I'm working on a new project, and would like to use a slightly smaller than stock motor. The motor from the Bachmann 44 tonner would be perfect, I wrote to Bachmann to see if they are available seperately. It measures 6x8x16 mm.  I'd really like to find somwhere that has a selection of similar sized motors, there might be one that would work even better. Thanks!

A lot of guys either use pager motors with reduction gear heads (from eBay and other vendors) or they buy z scale motors from NWSL and similar vendors.

It looks like the NWSL motors start at 10 x 12 x15 mm. What I need is something that is between that size and a pager motor.

e-mail "The Motorman" 8x16 is a common size. Do you need a double shaft?

How about Nigel Lawton? http://www.nigellawton009.com/VeeTipper.html He has 10x12, 8x16, 6x12 and 6x10.

How about some of the Kato "critters" and Tomix powered chassis'?  I don't have them handy at the moment, but I recall that some of those motors were rathe3r small.

Also, some of the new Bachmann steamers use small core less motors (I again don't have one handy for measuring the size).

Then of course there is Kato's Portram LRV.  That one uses low voltage pager motors with flywheels, in self-contained power trucks. Rather pricey (around $100), but it will yield 2 power trucks (2 motors).

I took a quick look at Kato Japans parts catalog but didn't see the LRV trucks. Wish I could read Japanese. Google translates the page, but not sure how well it works.

Sure would be nice if we buy just the parts.

Can't buy just the trucks, only the complete LRV (for parts).  Pricey, but it certainly is an option. Especially considering that it already contains  a pair of tiny powered trucks (with all the gears and other bits already assembled into a working unit).  The only problem (like with any pager motor) is that these are 1.5-3V motors. But again, the LRV included the electronics which lower the standard track voltage to an acceptable level for those motors. Each truck has its own voltage reducer (on the light boards).

Here's the link to the motors available from the Bachmann parts store:

http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=motor&search_in_description=1&categories_id=70&inc_subcat=1&manufacturers_id=&pfrom=&pto=&dfrom=&dto=&x=0&y=0

Lots of good options there.  Also, I've got a spare motor from a Kato 11-106 powered chassis, as well as a motor pulled from a Bachmann 4-8-4 Northern.  If you think either of those'll work, let me know.  Maybe we can work a trade or something (I need some reverse draft angle couplers for a caboose project).

Same motors I use in my micro helicopters, also needs a resistor, they're 1.5 volt motors..[So are the ones from Lawton..].Price is for two, they're coreless, take a heck of a beating, unbelievable power..Single shaft,though..I'm eying a few up for a three truck Heisler and a Climax for my logging RR,and as a Bachmann 4-4-0 with a flywheel update..I have a pile of them from old helis..If anybody wants the specs,I'll measure one up..I kinda think these are like 6X10 or 6X12..

I know somebody is gonna ask,so: The ones in the link are 7mmX16mm,.97mm shaft. There are smaller ones in the tail rotors, they're 6mmX10mm,.77 shaft..I actually have a few that are 4mmX8.5mm from a micro heli.If you want to look,search:"3 Ch. micro heli motor"..
