BNSF heritage?

Didn't get a shot of it, no camera, and phone not available, but I saw a newly painted covered hopper, lettered for BNSF, but with a SP&S roundel on the opposite end from the reporting marks and car data. Anyone else seen it, or anything else like it?

BNSF's internal railcar rebuild facility at Havelock, NE is applying 'Heritage' logos to some cars when they are being repainted.  I think that, by now, just about all of the predecessors are being represented.  I don't know about how many cars it'll be, but not all that many cars come out of Havelock with new paint; for quite some time now, touch-ups have been the majority of the work.  So even if they're applying it to everything rolling through the paint shop, it won't be very many cars.

I'd love to see more of it! I'd actually love to see the, follow NS and UP lead, and do full heritage units!

Now they need to recreate GN 170077.  The only picture I've found is in Patrick Dorin's book "Lines East".  It was an ACF CenterFlow, in full BN paint, including name and herald, but with GN reporting marks, apparently a test car for the merger scheme.  That one could work as a heritage car for both roads.

Microscale just released the decals in HO and N scale this month, I'll have a few done once they arrive in the mail.   :D

I posted this in the weekend update thread as well, but here's the first of the three I'm working on.

Haven't decided which two heritage logos to use yet...   :D

You know, it would be really easy for NS to do NS heritage cars for NS.  I'd kill to see boxcars roll out in the Tarwheel scheme.

There are still a couple hoppers in NS paint floating around.
