nice

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Ballasted some last night.

That photo really shows me how much more I need to do.

Very nice, @Ed Kapuscinski.  That's an especially good looking ballast job.  I wonder if you should hit those Super Trees armatures with a coat of paint, though.

It's even neater now that I masked and cleaned up the edge.

Yeah, you're right, some of the trees look like they could use another coat of gray.

p.s. that ground cover under the trees is the hidden gem in that scene IMO

Scene looks great Ed. FWIW the shot of the trees from the top looks much better than the railfan view, it looks like you sprayed more from the top than the side; Hitting them from the side would be good unless you are modeling birch. Also like the weathering on the lead unit  8)

What are your plans for an image on the backdrop behind the trees?

What are your plans for an image on the backdrop behind the trees?

I've got a trip planned up to York in December to go shoot a bunch of backdrop photos.
I'm also entertaining the idea of taking a photo of the tree line, itself and using it too.
I'm also thinking about adding some additional branch material behind the trees to break it up a bit more.

Well, just a tiny bit of it. But I'm trying to wean myself off of "the good stuff" toward commercial options.
