Interesting idea..........don't see why it wouldn't work in as much as you coud keep the layer thin enough.
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Hi Brendan.

It looks like you have set the stage for the building of a great layout. I hope you will start a thread in the Engineering layout Report so we can all follow your progress.

All moved into the house and now to start cracking on the layout room. I finally also got a chance to pull the photos from my Alaska trip off the camera.

Got to ride a "gravity railway" last weekend...  "Leap the Dips" at Lakemont Park in Altoona.  Never did get close to the curve, well, not the big one, anyway...

And did some research for Eric, Bob, Dave V, and all the other SPFs...  Found a good example of weathered Tuscan red...

And checked out some rooftop details while I was out...

Okay, and there was some train spotting at Tyrone:

Ahhhhhhhh, Your talking about the website, not the store! Took me a few minutes (not had coffee yet) to realize where you are talking about.

The main page on the site has a link to the store or go directly there using this link.

Thanks Bob.  One of these days I'll learn to read.

Lee, did you go to Gardner's Ice Cream Shop while you were in Tyrone? Can't miss that place. Also that train is at Delgrosso's not Lakemont. I have ridden that train atleast a hundred times.

Interesting shot there, Richie.  Looks very similar to a shot I took this week.

I was really just looking for a shot of the trestle, but I happened to catch some pumpkins.

Up by Martinez?  Railfanned there as a kid when visiting family in Petaluma.

The Train Ride is at Lakemont, The bridge the train is about to go over, crosses Brush Run behind the first base line at Blair County Ballpark. My Daughter works at Delgrosso's, their train is much more Toy like than what they used to run. The original, "Little Toot" is now on display.

Indeed it is. You can see the highway 4 on ramp sign in the middle of the photo.

^ Nice.  We've got hours of video from the mid to late 80's railfanning that area.  Almost got knocked over (as a twelve year old 80 pounder), as a manifest blasted through the tunnel with 12 units leading.  Many in the Kodachrome scheme.  Great memories!

Wheat field using static grass.

Sweet wheat field, those low side trucks are going to get full fast! Have you seen the willsmodels grain boxes and HuskerN's newer steel grain boxes?

working on a row of buildings on a hill

Bob.

Looking forward to seeing how you blend the foundations into the hill side, Nice buildings so far. I've got a gentle hill that will have buildings planted on it too...

Dingle ball on the power line... something that's never modeled but certainly should be to keep the five fingered planes from flying into the wires.
