NOAA gives out rulers with inches...

That is a tight corner, literally.  You might be able to sneak a connection in there but it probably will be tighter than your mainline standard.

What are the options in terms of the wall?  Seriously.

Options RE the wall - you raise $100K to tear off and rebuild the back addition to the house that houses my layout, you get a new wall!  The corner is the back side of the downstairs tub enclosure, and the indentation where the refinery sits that I'm trying to link to backs up to the washer and dryer.  Mainline radius is 14 inches which is tight there . . .

As I think about it, if I rotate the thing 180 degrees along the wall, the yard leads with the grey ballast move to the outside, which might make the connection easier but would put the enginehouse back in the back end (and behind the antique wood filing cabinet we also have in the room.

And yes, my all science all the time employer found a ruler vendor for its exploration swag that doesn't know what metric is.

LOL, illicit swag.  As long as the buoys and satellites work, right!

OK, I was not sure.  Sometimes walls can be "modified".  sounds like you have a possible solution.

My train room, the laundry space, and the down stairs bathroom (With original clawfoot tub) are all on the long ago enclosed back porch.  So no, walls are not really moveable.

I'll report back later.

One thought, if you have the space, is to increase the depth of the Elkins' shelf by pulling the HCD away from the wall.  By pulling the HCD forward, the turn around the corner might be eased and not require such a sharp curved turnout.  Fill in the gap between the HCD and the wall with your subroadbed of choice, and you can increase the scenery behind the tracks.

Received a pair of livestock trailers from Shapeways today.  Only had time to clean and prime them:

Wow! You guys have blown me away this weekend! I am definitely going to have to go to Shapeways and get one of those cattle trucks : I have been wondering how to find one in N scale ever scince I saw an HO scale one as a TOFC load on a flat car.

The work on the Fife limestone loader is really authentic, and I also love the short hi-cude IC boxcar. I'll have to try my hand at painting one of those someday, too.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

+1 on the clawfoot tub!

I'm late for the party, but I have been working away on my Showcase Miniatures MOW truck.  Lots of detail painting still to do and I have to make some decals to deck this out in CN colors but I have to say this is a beautifully designed kit and the result is fantastic.

I walked by one of these today that the local hydro company uses.  Almost a dead ringer for the version modelled, less the rail wheels.  On the deck of the hydro prototype the walkway and inside walls were diamond pattern metal (probably stainless).  I think this makes more sense to me than the body color (white) that I am using.

I see from the the photo I posted I missed painting one side of the corner marker...

The T1 tender was shown in Milwaukee at the NSE convention. Now a second tender drive is ready. This one is even more powerful than the first one. Now the work has to start on the loco. Here are some pictures of the tender mechanism.

Are you doing a run of these?

I tell you one thing...  if marc/jason/hans ever DID do a run of these...  there would probably be a waiting list ...  the line forms to the rear.

I know that I one point Hans spoke of doing a small run, I don't believe that opinion has changed.  As for my part, he will have all the castings he needs.

Thanks for the nice remarks. I can tell you it also runs very well. At the moment Hans is quite busy with a video production (deadline early september), but I will check with him about the possibilities of a small run. I'll get back to you when I know more.
