I'm off to Alaska in 4 days and can't wait.

I bet you can't wait!  After the last few weeks of Florida-like tropical heat we had here around New England, I wouldn't mind going to Alaska either!

After a record-setting June for the most days above 70 F  (17 days), the weather has taken a turn for the normal. Currently 53 degrees and light rain in Anchorage.

Best wishes, Dave

Alaska, like Homer Simpson quips, where no one questions your GED or wants to see it.

That's awesome Doug. The metal reinforcements are missing though.

Boy, that is a scene that begs to be modeled!

It's Thurmond West Virginia. It was modeled as an N-Trak Module, and featured in the November/December N-Scale Magazine.

Hey Ed:
The steel reinforcing at the Sherman's Creek Bridge was added sometime around 1955 - which is right in the middle of my time period.  I have been trying to decide whether to add it, and I may yet.
Doug.

Good progress on the 3rd and final span of the Fort Nelson River bridge...

and it was Christmas in July for me this week as a boat load of new freight cars arrived in the mail.  PWRS and Intermountain Sultran hoppers and a bunch of MicroTrains BC Rail boxcars too.

Your bridges look fantastic and I am supremely jealous of your CRS20s.

While I have much of the layout torn apart, I managed to get to home improvement store and get some paint for my background and scenic dividers.  Now everything is a calming blue color.

We've had people with us the last couple weeks, and a quick trip north as well, but I'm still detailing the Bealville Ranch.  Here's the latest, I've added a power pole:

But wait - there's more!  This pole has a yard light - that WORKS!  I used one of Ngineering's nano LEDS:

Here's a wider shot of the scene at dawn/dusk:

Been a fun summer so far!
