Well, I decided I could probably get away from work for a few days, I'd love to go and meet some of you guys, but the cheapest airfare from Ontario CA to Milwaukee is $859.... Ouch! I can get to London and back for that...
Sorry, not this time...:(

Unfortunately, it conflicts with Galesburg RR Days. With the plentiful prototype action, yard tours, and large train show, there is always plenty of N scale inspiration there for me. There will be two large N scale dealers there and several smaller ones. Enough to take nearly all my money.  :scared:

I doubt  anyone entering a passenger car into the contest is looking forward to see in you there :D

But I will like to see your work!

Thanks but for the record, I have yet to win in that category  :o

I don't get to many conventions but I have had better luck in the model photography category. There is lots of great competition in passenger cars and I expect this year to be no different. I will have an entry though and hope for the best.

Seeing others work is a great part of these conventions and provides me with inspiration. Looking forward to seeing some impressive steam engines from you !

I was thinking about skipping it and catching up on sleep.  Especially since the Modutrak guys are going to be there...

I was going to go, but if Mike's not going, I think I'll pass.

I have never been to one of these things.

I looked at the official web site for it. I could make it up next Thursday and be there for Friday and Saturday. I am not much on clinics, but I would like to see the public show. So I have to ask.

Is the public show pretty good? Is there a lot to see or is it a small event?

Thanks.

I'm coming up for Trainfest in November (and to see my cousins).
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Distance and cost were just much too far beyond my current means, but I did manage to buy some of the NSC collector sets being released for the convention with the Milwaukee Road road name of course.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Have you tried flying into Chicago and driving up? Probably too late now.

Moderately-sized.  The advantage is that many of the manufacturers will be there and, more often than not, not-yet-released and newly-announced items will be on display.

Pass. Too much to do, and not enough time. Plus, I'm not especially keen on the N Scale Collector Enthusiast thing.
