I know this would only make a minority happy, but another 53' well car would be welcome.

Um, you modern guys are so greedy, and forgetful.  Kato did the ACF 70-ton covered hopper in N.  Nice cars too; I wish they'd release more so I don't have to go chasing them on eBay.  Maybe it will be something they can pair with that car.  They have a caboose that is an era match, so maybe they'll have an all NA train set for their F7s and RS units.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

I know! It's a 53' well car, a 50' reefer, a steel-framed woodside boxcar, and a Civil War flatcar -- so they can please EVERYBODY!!!

I have a UP one, got in a lot, and can't sell the damn thing.  Its just one, maybe everyone wants a pair, who knows.

As for the cars, hmmm, I'll wait and see before I add my 2 cents to the mix.

With their passenger sets selling well, a 50 ft express reefer wouldn't be a bad choice, especially if they did one that was used in both freight and passenger service.  I don't need one, as they were obsolete by 1974, but that shouldn't stop them.

I have an Erie and a Seaboard, sold the second of each.  It's a bear to body-mount couplers, but the car looks good.

The ACF two bay would be great if they pin mounted the truck instead of that old fashion split male thingy. :scared:
As for as body mounting, I just put a 00-90 tap through the dimple on the underside and put on a MT 1015.
Trimmed the couple box off the truck and turned them around.
Fit's great.
Would love if they would release the open side, that would give me AA 1-85! :D
(Maybe 86-135 too!  Gotta look in the book.)

The fix for this would be to cut the split pin off, drill out the bolster and insert round plastic rod. Drill it out and either use a pin or spall pan head screw to secure the new truck.

I think that's the method I used.  I didn't keep the stock design, that much I know.

It's a nice-looking model that didn't generate a lot of interest for some reason.

Whatever Kato is coming out with, I'm sure it'll be out of my era.

Hmm... I'll order 10
because I'm a collector...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Me too.
Me three. Unless they change their mind and decide to go with a passenger consist, and make it the NCL or Empire Builder.

The fix for this

There was an MR article about how to convert these to MTL trucks/couplers, dunno, a while back. Should be able to find when in the Trains mag index.
The wheels roll oh so easily in those trucks, body-mount MTLs is the only way to keep them.

:|                   Me 4 .No wait a minute I have four of the originals, the Southern Pathetic (SP) paint scheme looks quite nice, and I have never converted the couplers. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

Hear, hear!   Both please.  And a late Hiawatha too, complete with Super Dome and Skytop and a Little Joe.
