Stupid, but NOT a "Darwin Award" winner. You have to kill yourself (or otherwise render yourself unable to reproduce) for that honour.

By the looks of her, the alcohol and likely meth, will take her out soon enough.

You cab get an "Honorable Mention" for surviving, but I get the impression that she wasn't in the car when the police arrived.  In that case, there was no (immediate) danger to her, so no Darwin.  And, you're automatically disqualified if your actions harm innocent bystanders, which would include the train crew, so if she did mange to kill herself this way, and the crew was injured, she'd be disqualified.

1. Having been to WV, it's worse than PA. NO CONTEST.
2. I thought only steam engines had whistles.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

There's probably exceptions to this (e.g., Ed's Rule), but for the most part, I would say that's a fair assumption.

In fact, one of my favorite country songs is "Midnight in Montgomery" by Alan Jackson.  However, the lyrics, in part, go:

"And off somewhere a midnight train is slowly passing by
I could hear that whistle moaning, I'm so lonesome I could cry . . ."

Um, actually, Alan Jackson, no you can't, unless there's a museum near by.  "Midnight in Montgomery" was released only about twenty years ago, so I cringe a little bit everytime I hear this part of the song.  Generally, diesel-electric locomotives have horns, but, otherwise, what a great song.

Fun fact: SP #4449 has both a whistle and a horn.

Yeah, but you still "whistle" for the crossings, or at "whistle" posts. I've never heard anyone refer to "horning for the crossing".

Terminology dies hard, even if it's not entirely accurate.

Well, I guess midnight could be a typical time for that sort of thing...
