Trying to finish off my second L1 build I`m trying to do more of the brass detail on the engine but I`m really kinda stumped on where it all goes
I like building the kit but that little brass detail gets me!

Now here`s a pennsy mans kinda a$$

Hey Cody, the instructions are pretty good on telling you where things go, but granted, there is a mountain of text and pictures take the mustery out of it.
Do yourself a favor and pick up Pennsy Steam A-T by Paul Carleton. It's a great reference book recommended to me by God himself Max Magliaro.

I built mine from these pictures. I also took a look at what other modelers have done and tried to emulate their work. Sometimes it helps to see an actual model of what you are working on.

I uploaded some pictures a while back on the N Scale Yahoo boards. So take a look over there.

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I also noticed you may have the headlamp in the wrong place. If you're going to do the facelift lollypop thing, you gotta work on the pilot air tank. The directions also tell you what to do. You have to remove the walkway from that air tank and put it on the smokebox face.

Or you can just flip the generator and lamp from what you have now. SPF's will call you out on that one

As far as those marker lights go, I didn't put them on my tender until after I painted my tender with FCC. I don't know if you are plan to do that or not, but I chose to. Rumor has it that they didn't start painting cab roofs and tender tops FCC until the M1. I painted it to keep with my theme of the rest of my steam. Plus I like the way it looks...so yeah. I'm being totally subjective there.
Maybe I'll get called out on it by an SPF on it someday  ;)

Hey Cody,
... It's a great reference book recommended to me by God himself Max Magliaro.

I'll second that emotion...

I don't plan on painting my tender deck or roof FCC
I'm not a fan of it...just personal taste
As for the headlight generator swap I kinda like the higher headlight!, plus holes are already drilled so ill
Be sticking with that

Ill have to try doing the air tank walkway movement too

I do plan on building more next one will be a non beatified front
