Nice! When are you making the 60's/70's CJ mail truck?

But that sure is a nice mail truck, either way.

Dave, what are your thoughts on roll off dumpsters? These could be done pretty easily using a laser cutter for the master.

My thoughts are that they're already available from other sources.

Wow, THAT is a nice looking model, correct era, and absolutely something I needed.   8)  Thanks!

Also, those wheels look like they could be useful for other stuff maybe...

Here's the post office I will be modeling. (probably compressed a little...it's small, but it's a small town so I don't want it overpowering the model town)   Think one of y'all can whip this up for me too?   :P

http://www.city-data.com/picfilesc/picc23726.php

Found some pics in my personal stash too...

This one was obviously chopped down a bit.

Dock area where those pretty little trucks and one big Athearn one will hang out.

Hey, everybody else seems to be placing their orders...worth a shot.   ;)   My grandfather worked at this one, as have several friends.  And bonus, it's a block off the BNSF mainline between Fort Worth and Amarillo.  That brownish thing above the red pickup on the left side is a BNSF boxcar full of drilling mud.

In all seriousness, if anyone knows of a commercially available kit that is a good starting point I would be interested.   This structure will be for my next layout which is several years away, but I'm starting to work on key structures so, it could come up as a project before long.

Karin, I'll be in for three of the Grumman's once they're on your site.  You'll recognize me as your customer that had a package--irony of all ironies--lost in the mail.     (and I will thank you again for your outstanding customer service in that situation)

Hi Doug, since you aren't in any hurry on the structure I just might be able to accommodate at a later time. Also, I have these mail trucks in stock, would you like me to send you a PayPal invoice?

Hey Karin,

That would be cool!   I feel like it's a good "pike size" building, appropriate for small/medium size towns or satellite post offices in large cities.   So if it comes up eventually on your project list I will be very happy, and I'm sure there will be others interested as well.

Yes,  you can invoice me....throw a yellow bus on there too!   :D

A couple modular job-site office trailers put together with aluminum steps and wheelchair ramp would make an excellent small-town post office.
That's exactly how it is in Mt. Ephraim, NJ since the post office that was on the site previously was burnt down due to an air conditioner malfunction.

I just went to the M.B. Klein website (looking for the Big Boys) and I noticed that the Mail Trucks are no longer listed either on the main N scale pages or even under the NZT Products page. I know that they are sold out (I bought 5 myself), but usually even the sold out items are still visible on the website.  The web page for them is still there (as I can bring it up from my order history), but it is not available elsewhere.

These models are very well done but it is too bad that they have solid windows.  I think that I'll try to hollow out one of my models to get my see-through windows.  :)

Looks like i missed the boat. (make that again...)

And just as a bit of reinforcement for David's stylized logo decals, I happened to be going by some of the 1:1 scale versions of these and from what was maybe 40 yards away I almost thought that the USPS had adopted his design. So in a comparative distance from the finished models it will be impossible to tell that the logo isn't the 100% real-deal.
