Lots of great work this week!
Nifty trick with the brass in the bridge.
And so much groovy weathering... gotta try that out sometime!

Our Free-moN group had a layout at the World's Greatest Hobby show this weekend and it was a blast.
I joind the group a year ago when it was 4.5 guys with 5-6 modules.
This weekend we had 11 members and over 24 modules!
Lot's of fun running long, long trains.
Photos on the layout engineering report.

And here's the video.
It just took FOUR HOURS to upload and "process" on YouTube.
The video is 13 minutes at 1080p, and it looks very good on a full, wide screen.
Grab some popcorn and a cold one and enjoy.

Thanks for looking.

Today, converted 75 cars to FVM metal wheelsets.  I'm glad I ran out of them.  Sounds like a gentle rain, pulling a long string of hoppers.

Does anyone know the size for the Bowser crown trucks?  The original wheelsets are so bendy, that it's difficult to get an accurate measurement of them.  0.553?  On the N5 cabin cars, it looks like they are 28"d wheels.  Same width as the crowns?

Joe has been asking, too.
And I've been writing  :scared:
It's been a year since Steve Williams talked me into my first module, so about now would be a good time to reflect on the experience so far and share a few pearls of wiz or dum or both  :ashat:

Also worked on some weathering too:

That looks excellent Smike (as does so much else in this week's update!).  I've been experimenting with photo backdrops and a new camera:

More details in the Tehachapi BC thread.  A welcome respite from track, turnouts, and tortoises.

Amazing weathering! :o Someday I really want to learn how to do that.

(This is where somebody typically post a reply saying "it's not that hard" and posts a picture of...well....not to be harsh and unapreciative, but...a mess...which is all I'm capable of)

The weathering looks great, but the ride height is too low.   :P
