Chris, I'm having trouble finding any shots online and my book collection is in storage, but didn't CP have some barrel ore cars that found their way to Trail?

Edit: So the CP are slurry cars... similar but not the same.

The CP cars were for nickel slurry and were used exclusively for service in the Sudbury, ON area for Falconbridge. Raw ore for INCO in the Sudbury area was shipped in 25' drop-bottom gondolas.

They sure did not find their way to Trail, BC. CP used ore jennies similar to the type that most modellers think of when the term "ore hopper" is thrown out in the Trail area:

I could have sworn that there was a shot of a train in 'The Crow and the Kettle' with a slurry car on it, but I don't have access to my copy at this time.

Is it me, or are the Canadians having their own conversation?   ;)

Eh, they do it all the time and I'm used to it now.

If this is what you're thinking of, they are 'barrel' ore cars, but open hoppers.

Yep, that is the one I was thinking of (same photographer too!). Thanks! I didn't notice your Algoma Central signature logo when I first posted that question....its obvious that you would have included them in the list if the AC had some. My bad.

Best wishes, Dave

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Well, they're both built by NSC around the same time frame and both have curved sides....    8)
