Looking great Daryl. A little rust on the fence would really add to the look.

Great idea.  I will do that along with fixing the loading platform and adding some figures.

Can't do anything about the yellow patches on the SP unit though.

I've made a small modification to the legs on my Kankakee River module. Instead of using eye-bolts screwed into threaded inserts to secure the angled braces, it now uses big red knobs that spin onto fixed threads. Here it is in transport mode, paired with the station module:

Please excuse the midden heap on the floor--work is in progress. :)

Since I didn't take an underside shot with the legs in place, here's an old picture of what the legs look like when set up:

The leg geometry hasn't really changed, even though at the time of that photo the legs folded against the bottom of the module, instead of being removable.

A couple of recently-completed SD40-2s (CN/GTW Alstom ex KCS SD40-3 #5950 still in active CN service and ex-MP CN SD40-2 #5383, now retired) ready to start their workday.

Those handrails look fantastic!  Great job!

Even though I don't like CN, those locos look great. what did you use on for the hand rails?

I used to think that you were a good guy.

Best wishes, Dave

Sorry, Dave.  Bleed Blue and Orange.  That Green and Yellow stuff makes my skin crawl.  :P

Yeah, but why do we have to bleed so much?

As much as I would like to comment, I fear that it could anger the football gods. Thus, I will simply say, good luck next week and may the better team prevail.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Some great work and great pics!!! The SOO steamer and train is awesome. As for the Da bears,, I agree with my fellow wisconsinite Dave,, let's tee the ball up and may the best team win. As for bleeding team colors,, it comes from suffering the loses and the wins.

People have just figured out that my initials,, GB,, match a certain team from TITLETOWN!!!!!!

  Adios

Nasty weather, and the Bears laying an egg, means go run trains on MiNi

If you ever decide to get rid of that Dash 8 let me know :D. I've been trying to find a Ph IV or V for a while.  I do have an undec but MicroScale is out of the right decal sets for either.  It looks great

I got my "new" re-radiused main down, and the less steep incline up to the coal mine in yesterday, now to put the switchback to the mine over both those tracks.

Everything I own can now run on it, although at 16", it is still my tightest mainline curve.  Should have done this years ago.

Yeah, but why do we have to bleed so much?

It makes the grass in Soldier Field grow.  Sure would like to see Urlacher back.  BTW Spelcheck wanted to replace "Urlacher" with "Launch"--kind of appropriate.

Da bearz!

Nothing to show this week since I keep getting stuff 80% ready to photograph and then move on to something else.  Once I get some free time I need a "finish 20% week"  and then will have 3-4 things to post.
Best regards,

Roger

I almost forgot my real achievement this weekend was making this track cleaner thingee.  I have a short tunnel on my upper level and there was a small section in the middle where I couldn't reach with a bright boy, and after the layout being idle for a year I needed something.

I gooed a 1" Cratex XF (extra fine) rubber abrasive wheel to a ruler.  Worked perfectly, and also works on reaching the staging yard tracks with tight overhead clearances.

Ian,
I think splicing some Athearn/MDC 50' overland cars may be a more straight forward method to make these cars. Certianly not the exact window copy but fairly close.

Because it's easier for me to etch the sides, and then it would be perfect.
