Finally!!! A Southern 89' flat car. It'll go great with my Southern 40' Fruehauf trailers.

Hmm... I prefer movie
trailers...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

That civil war era bridge is pretty cool.

Has any of the rolling stock gotten out yet?

Did any of you notice that the Blue 50' Rock Island box car appears to have a blue coupler box but black trucks?  Do you think this car has body mounted couplers?

No. It is a standard extended truck-mounted coupler with a cover molded in blue (to simulate the cushioned underframe coupler pocket).  MT has done this on several cars in the past.  To me this looks more realistic than the new body mounted coupler they put on the new 60' boxcar (which looks nothing like a real cushioned underframe coupler pocket).

I was hoping to see the PRR diner for Christmas. Oh well, on to 2013.

I just ordered the 89' Southern flat car from Chulvis. Plus 10 packs of #1027 body mount couplers for some other cars I have. I love Christmas.

Hmm... I love Christmas
turkey, termites, etc....

Nothing for me this go-around.  Chuck and BLW are showing the New Haven runner pack #77 while the MTL site is showing the Santa Fe RBLs as runner pack #71, so I'm going to guess that the online shops have it correct based on the paper MTL newsletter.  The New Haven runner-pack is a foobie and doesn't appeal to me, although I concede it probably will do well enough.  If New Haven is such a good seller for them, where are the New Haven heavyweights, specifically the Parlor and the 12-1 for which the MTL models match the prototype?  If they want New Haven modelers, then New Haven schemes should be released on the MTL models that actually match New Haven prototypes.

Nice finally to see a TOFC with the plastic details molded in the same color as the body paint.

The DT&I car looks pretty, with the outset trucks.  If I can get past the door errors I might pick it up.  I can fix the coupler pad and change the couplers to 1015s.

When were those DT&I cars retired? Any chance I could use one for 85?

Or when did they hit the rails?  Any chance the date on that car's pre-1969?

I'm kinda confused by the DTI car.  I see it has the longer wheelbase.  Good.  I thought they had tooled the longer sill to go with it?   :?
