The PCM part numbers and locomotive cab numbers that are listed do not match any of PCM’s HO locomotives.  They do however match PCM’s web site listing for the N scale M1a and M1b locomotives. The email would leave you to believe Toy Train Heaven has 66 of these locomotives in stock but I wonder if this is just another false alarm by asking for reservations for a nonexistent model.

This thing has gone on so long I don't know how anyone could trust a pre-order for the M-1's.  I would love to see them come out with them regardless if I would buy one or not.  But the whole thing is just crazy now.

I just checked their website and it doesn't list any of these models, but I'm willing to send them an email to place an order now and call them tomorrow with my credit card info if they really have them in stock...

The PCM PRR M1 in N scale does not exist.  It's been roughly 8 years since it was announced.

The Shay is a really nice locomotive and a good running model. The drivetrain is pretty convincing. There are probably some disproportions, but it sure looks good moving over our Glenn White / Altoona Northern tracks.

Glen White Shay meet with Altoona Northern Home built box cab.

I went direct to http://www.precisionscaleco.com/ (hopefully the right place) and looked around. The first page blew me away...LV shrouded Pacifics, a streamlined C&NW 4-6-4, even the Frisco "Firefly". It's all in HO but nice. Are they actually going to produce this stuff? Didn'y see any N scale stuff.

Frank,

PCM was Precision Craft Models, which has been folded into Broadway Limited Imports:

After what happened in Canada with advanced reservations and deposits, I wouldn't give up my credit card number to someone listing vaporware such as the M-1.

In fact, I would be suspect of anyone even listing the M-1.  Look at the Broadway Limited delivery schedule.  There is no M-1.  There isn't even any N Scale all the way through September 2013.

This raises a big red flag with me.

They also listed the Atlas 89' TOFC cars and we know those are not out yet. I'm curious how they got to their "quantity in stock" number though.

I have dealt with Toy Train Heaven more than a dozen times and in my experience they are reliable and honest.  Sometimes it takes them a week or two to get the items I ordered (during those blowout sales) but they do deliver. On some occasions I only got partial quantities because the items were sold out.  All in all, I'm happy with Toy Train Heaven.

Irrespective, I'm curious as to how they have in stock a product I am certain does not exist.  If true the N scale PRR community would be falling all over themselves right now.  Unless I am interpreting the "in stock" column incorrectly.

EDIT:  If you go in through the online catalog, the listing for the N scale M1 is empty.

Why doesn't someone just call them and get it figured out and report back? Then we can stop with squabbling and heresy about an existing product or badmouthing an LHS.

Just a thought,
