Whoops. I just checked the "Built" dates on the UP version. One year newer than my era bracket.

That's OK, tho'. I'll just confiscate any magnifiers used near my layout. :ashat:

I don't doubt these will be great models .... Nothing for me in this release.

Now if Wisconsin Central and SOO appear it will cost me dearly! I'd probably spring for CNW or Milwaukee too.

Cheers,

Kev

Meh, 70's.  Nice car though.

Jason

Agreed, but supposedly CGW had these cars, though I've seen no photo proof of it yet.

I think it's the 1311-1320 series which were only 3'6" inside.  Assuming the end will cooperate, it should be a real easy kit bash.

I looking to see if it could be used for any other (mostly) welded cars.

A small plea to manufacturers, leave the welded cars to the scratch builders.

I was at pat's yesterday to pick up 27 trailers he had for me. I saw all the test shots for these cars. Also saw the finished "Wood Packer" Boxcar....... these releases are absolutely some of the best stuff to hit the shelf. That Gon is way nice.

Just have you paychecks forwarded to Pat............lol

This Thrall car design started being built in the 60s actually, so I hope we'll see some earlier schemes. Other owners included ADN, BN, C&EI, CCR, C&S, CGW, C&NW, CR, CSS, DLRX, DTI, FEC, GN, GRR, ITC, L&N, LSBC, MILW, MKT, MP, RF&P, SOO, SP, and WC.  There's an article in RMJ that chronicles the design's development.  Pat, you're my new hero.

Would you happen to know the cover date of that RMJ issue?
