I started roughing in foam scenery on the Seaboard Central, as better described in the Layout Engineering Reports:

Still plugging away on my AB6 -

Cheers,

Mark, wrt your earlier posts about filler...  There is an old pattern makers trick to adding fillet material in the sharp corners where two basic shapes meet .i.e. your headlight and the roof.  Find a plastic pellet or ball having the correct radius and mount a stick to it.  Add a small bead of your filler, drag the ball along the corner to spread it in. It should feather out nicely.  Just an idea.

Continued work on new layout. Based on design from this thread, https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=23766.0 modified by DKS to ease curves and provide more staging.
Each 3’ x 4’ section is constructed of 1x3 lumber, covered by ½” plywood, 2 inch foam
Height is 50.5” I am using sheet cord for the roadbed in staging, atlas code 55 track.
I spent spring taking down old layout and salvaging materials. I was let go from my job in July, I start new job on Tuesday so construction can continue.

Well this wasn't this weeks work, but it was this weeks I uploaded the photo. My treatment of a painted, unlettered Bachmann 70 tonner, numbered one slot above where the actual MEC 44 tonner roster ended.

I did pretty good this week. I finished assembling at least 10 Intermountain reefer kits. Only 29 more to go, then I need to restart work on my Intermountain tank car kits.

Hmm... I drink a banana
daiquiri for every kit
Kiz finishes...(thud)...

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Heart creek bridge looks great.  Are those Peace River bridge spans in the background?  Good find on the scenic materials.  I know where to come when I run out now.

Yes Andy, those are my Peace River bridge spans... only 2 of 7 made so far.

The Peace River bridge is on hold for now. I'm concentrating on my Heart River module.

I would like to have it close to completion in time to bring it to the next Calgary RPM.

Finished up an patched GP35 for a buddy today.  I did not do any details, but the patch and all the weathering.  I started with an oil paint fade, added rust with oils, used a minimal amount of dirty brown wash and finished it with some powders.  I'll post more photos in the weathering/detailing section.

Here's what I have been working on (covered in the NW2 thread).

A kitbashed late phase NW2.  Most recent work was the handrails.

This is what I'm aiming for.

I posted this in my other thread, but I actually have something to add to this thread for once.

I took my detail kit from the Fine N scale ESE Hudson and drilled holes for the stanchions, added the cab grab irons and hand rails.

Need to finish it up but its a start. And I think really enhances the shell on the ConCor Hudson.
