Who also loves to double head ?
Lets see'em !
I have over 23 double headed sets, some with matching pushers from Athearns Big Boys, Challengers, 2-10-2s and so on.
But these double headed Key brass 2-6-6-6 Alleghaneys out pull the rest by far.

Gotta LOVE double heading ----------------------------------------  8)

Here it is...finally!  This is an N-scale Pennsylvania H8 and tender built from one of Jason Smith's resin castings and adapted to a Bachmann 2-8-0 mechanism.  The mechanism was modified to accommodate the H8 shell.  The tender floor was made from styrene, a set of Bachmann tender trucks with electrical pickup, and a modified 2-8-0 drawbar.  All plumbing was replaced with brass and phosphor-bronze wire.  Walkways and boiler below the walkways was fabricated from styrene, and the tanks under the walkways were made from styrene tube.  The marker lights, whistle, and headlight are RLW L1s parts.  I still have to add couplers, a decoder, and lighting.  Otherwise, this is the completed model.

Chris, what modifications were required on the mechanism?

Pennsy T1 is almost done, just needs the keystone, a few minor valve gear parts and fireman & engineer installed.  I guess I just couldn't wait-

A  PRR L1 in the making. The engine is based on a Minitrix K4 shell and a Kato Mikado chassis.

Although the results are already quite pleasing, it was a very difficult job. A large part of the mikado frame had to be removed and new motor and worm mounts had to be made. The training track axle and drawbar are temporary for testing purposes and more work on the shell is needed.
