Those roundhouses are amazing!!

I for one would love to see more of your layout.

(I only have a door for a layout, lol)

     Thanks !
When Village Photos had their site I had close to 800+ pics of the layout, the roundhouses was full, both switching yards, pass terminal, both engine facilitys and running seven trains on all four levels.
When they went down, everyone that was with them lost all their photo albums.
Luckly all my pics I took are still stored on an extra hard drive on my basement PC, but better yet, a buddy had copyed his own file of every pic I posted and is going to send me a disc of it this week. So as soon as I get the disc and download it on this PC I plan to make another photo album with Photobucket that I now use.
I know several people with door layouts, and every one is fantistic !
I started off with small layouts in the early 60's and they just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Since my third divorce 13 years ago, i've went wilder with N, no home BOSS to say --------------- "NO !" -------  :scared:

About 30 years ago, I had visions of a multi stall round house on my dream layout.
It is nice to see that some one has accomplished that.
I learned that even 12 stalls of the Heljan round house took up a large amount of space and seemed to overwhelm a layout unless that layout were rather large.

How much real space does the multistall round house in the picture occupy?
My questimate for my own arrangement is that a circle of round house stalls would be at least 3.3 feet in diameter just from the back wall of the round house.

I would like very much to see how that has been done on a home layout.   8)

Actually I never measured the diameter when I set it up on the floor, but over 3 feet sounds and looks about right.
I do know that using the Athearn self-indexing turntable and using the old style Heljan roundhouses, they are set back more than the modern style Athearn ones to make the stall degree come out correct.

Ernie, now that's what I call a ROUND HOUSE! That might fit all of Superturbines FEF's! Tails out please...:)

I have a 36 stall 3/4 round roundhouse laid out for my San Bernardino yard that is 32.33" diameter; it was a relatively early, "small" house with only 92' stalls. Still, it takes a lot of real estate, even in N scale!
Nice work!
Regards, Otto K.

HUM, i'll just tell Jason that I need to borrow all his FEF's to see how they look in my new roundhouse, then loose his return address ------
Darn, your roundhouse sounds impressive, lets see some pics !
I like them regardless of size.

    Thanks !
I have more than enough to ------------ "Fill'er'up" --------------  8)
Even with the planned full basement layout, I might be able to get 1/2 out and on the layout from the collection, maybe ?
A person dosn't realize just how much they can collect in 45+ years of N, and still collecting.
I have considered building long display cases under parts of the layout in the finished section of the basement to display all the rest.

Now to get back what the threads about.
Finally found one pic of my Daiyoung/NJ Brass Pennsy 4-4-4-4 T1.
I painted this one quite a long time ago using a GG1 decal sheet.
Never paying any attention that I used a GG1 #400 class, and the T1 is a #500 class.
Also my factory painted 6-4-4-6 S1 is a different shade of Brunswick Green as well as has a semi-flat finish instead of a high-gloss finish I applyed on the T1, it will be stripped and refinished to match the S1.

Here they are together hauling passengers.

AHHHHHH, fantistic pics Jason, show us how its done ------------------  ;)
The Athearn roundhouses does show about a 2 1/2" distance from the turntable edge to the front doors, as where the Heljans measures around 7 1/8" from the turntable edge to the front doors.
OK, don't tease, lets see more !

The cast details are from Republic Locomotive Works sold separately from the L1s kit, but there are no pics so it's hard to know which parts to buy.

I made a photographic catalog of the RLW parts I have bought - it is in RailImages:

http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php/cat/2063

I sent all of these images to RLW, for free, so that they could update their website.  I even sized them the same and applied the same naming convention so that all they had to do was to FTP the files to their server, but they still didn't use them. :?
