I have two Bachmann GP-7 with factory installed decoders. The look, the electrical pickup and the price all please me, but the decoder really doesn't. Buzzing, very strange speed-curve, unable to program CV5 and 6.
Is there a simple way to replace it - is there even a drop-in-decoder that might fit right away? Or is there a suitable decoder for hardwire installation that wouldn't be to difficult?
I have no experience of decoder installation other than drop-in-projects, but I feel I might be ready for an easy one.
