Intermountain Customer Service is GREAT

I ordered 60 Intermountain N scale 40' reefer boxes with inserts about 6 weeks ago, but they weren't yet in stock. When they were ready to ship, Intermountain called me and said they would not charge me for shipping. Great! Today, my order arrived, but instead of 60 boxes, I received 70 boxes. I called Intermountain, offering to pay for them. But nooooo, they said, "no charge, keep 'em." I asked them how they stay in business, and they said in so many words, tell your friends how we take care of our customers. So that's what I'm doing.

Thanks, Intermountain!

Hmm... and Kiz charges
me per termite for my
supper...

That is a nice win ........... last year it took almost 6 months and mild nagging after 4 months to get a replacement loco body for one that had warped and lifted the ends so high that it would not hitch on to rolling stock.

I agree. :)
On request, they've sent me replacement parts for broken coupler mounts for their F7s.
No charge.
(But it did take awhile.)

Nice
for you.  Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for a tunnel motor frame half (and assorted handrails/parts) ordered from IM through my LHS early in September 2011.  Finally finishing off DCC installs on those even at this late date.

Suppose IM still holds a grudge over the 'Candlelight Vigil' all those years ago on a forum that no longer exists?  They did take awhile when replacing my first run blobfest "L"windshield roman lettered model with a completely different era Speed Lettered one...

IM was great for me too.  They rustled up some OOP PRR F7 shells for me a few months ago, mated them to some mechanisms they had in the warehouse, and sent them to me assembled at considerable discount, all because of an inquiry on my part on their Facebook page.

They were very nice and very responsive.

I'm sorry if others have not had the same service.

I have also received nothing but great service from the folks at IM during the times I needed spare parts.  They are a pleasure to deal with.

My only disappointment with IM was that they didn't reduce flange size of the non-driven wheels on the 2nd run of their AC-12s. They did change the headlight LEDs from ugly yellow to a nice white but the flanges are still too deep.  But that is totally unrelated to their customer service.

IM Service is great I needed some parts for a custom project and parts for a piece I had botched up, and they sent me parts free of charge. Great service, no questions asked.

Thank goodness there are more positive comments than negative so far. I was starting to wonder if I was on another planet.

Hmm... no comment...

I've had nothing but good interactions with Intermountain too. I called wanting to BUY a replacement roof walk for a covered hopper, one that I damaged by my own mistreatment. They took my address and phone number and said we'd be in touch. A few weeks later I got a package in the mail with 6 complete sets. I called to let them know I hadn't been charged anything, and wanted to know what the cost would be. They kindly said "Instead of a nickle or dime, we'd rather you had roof walks on your cars so they look when people see them and ask where you got them."

Just remembered a second interaction with them that did not involve free stuff. I was looking for a few cars from an old release and had exhausted my list of usual contacts. A quick call to them resulted in a few places not on my list that had ordered them. No luck. A few days later I received an email saying they had found some left in stock in their own stash and that I could order them through my favorite retailer. Done and done, another satisfied customer!

Yup, nothing but good here.
Back when the ACF two bays came out, I got one with out a roof walk.
Called them up, and they sent me a new on right away.

A year or so ago, a friend had the motor on a N scale F unit lock up.
Asked them to send a new motor so we could swap it out.
They sent him the whole mech, frames to trucks!
No charge.
