I don't suppose there are any kit or RTR vehicles like this out there anyplace? I'm not really looking forward to trying to scratchbuild one  :scared:

Thanks,
-Mark

No. Sadly, we are lacking a lot in the AG category. Hopefully somebody will save us someday... A company could sell quite a few AG related items like this. I wont bother mentioning them all here. There are a lot of items lacking that one might find parked around the local elevator.

Mark,
I've seen close to HO scale versions of that in the temporary toy aisle at Fleet Farm in Green Bay when I have been visiting my in-laws for the holidays.  Nothing close to N scale, however.

Ah well, I was afraid of that. It's a big piece of machinary, so maybe I can use an HO vehicle of something smaller (prototypically speaking) as kitbash fodder...

Thanks,
-Mark

Ertl makes a 1:64 diecast model that appears to be a modern update:

There are other types of sprayers that are more like a normal
truck with Bigfoot style tires. They do look like monster trucks.

We see those here around Rochelle, IL all the time; on the road and in the fields.  Would look great in a field along the mainline on the Geneva Sub.

I think Lee just told you to model it out of discarded sprue and old finger nail clippings.   :ashat:

Sok,
You forgot the vertical blind slats, the Vitamin Y tops, and the smell of over ripe bananas wafting from the adjacent room . . .

Wiking and Kibri have quite modern tractors and combine harvester but of course nothing like that spray machine.

We've got a bunch of Loral's, RoGators, TerraGators, Millers, etc... where I work. I'd be happy to try and get you dimensions and photos, collapsed, extended, etc. I'm not sure how tight the security is around here but I would expect if I ask about it first it would be ok to gather some info. The old Loral based on an International truck is still pretty common and would maybe be doable? I think Loral even made some equipment from regular 1ton pickup trucks. All you need is a truck cab and chassis, scratch build a crude big dry hopper or water tank, scratch some arms out of brass wire with some slightly larger diameter for spreader chutes or smaller for liquid hose and nozzles. For tires on the floaters you could maybe use some of the small Lego tires with the deep knobs on them or rob some off an HO model of a smaller tractor, or even some slices of rubber fuel hose with mud and dirt glued on instead of showing tread?

Mark, the GHQ John Deere 7800 tractor might be a good donor for the wheels if you decide to scratchbuild one (assuming that the diameter is reasonably close).  For the arms you might try using a photo etched crane boom (there are several available in N scale).

The hood and the bigger wheels of this one would be a good start for a kittbash:
