BTW, the corresponding thread over on NScale.net recently came back to life. A user by the name "E44a" has completed one of these babies. He even did it up in (gag me with a fork) Conrail paint.

Don't be upset Eric, my next E44 will be painted in a faded PRR scheme (still a CR unit for I model 1977-80)

Resurrecting a thread from near death...

Eric, this is your answer for decals:

John Frantz just sent this out to the PRR N Scale Yahoo list.

Decals came in the mail today.  Maybe I'll finally have to finish this shell up tomorrow.

I have finally gotten around to working on my EF-4 from shapeways.  The shell as mentioned has some cake layering, but this locomotive has nice flat areas and I ran some sand paper over it.

The fuel tank area need the most frame modification to match the profile of the shell

With the 628 stock trucks I had to sand down the inner part of each step for swing clearance

With the light board (DCC at some point) hitting the frame I used Kapton tape to isolate things

LED needed a pocket to sink into for clearance

The mounting tabs had to go for the light board to snuggle down under the lower car body in the front

The only thing that may be an issue is that in order to get the shell on the chassis The shell is backwards on the frame I'm sue conversion to DCC will make that issue moot, or I can just change the polarity of the leads once I get the decoder installed.

Aaron, all of your photos are "This image or video is currently unavailable." Check your "private" settings. Or something like that.

Nonetheless, nobody can see your pics. Just to verify, I tried five different browsers on four different computers, on three different OSes (OSX, Win7 and Debian Linux), logged-in to Flickr and not logged-in to Flickr, extensions enabled and disabled and... still... nothing other than a bunch of placeholder images, "This image or video is currently unavailable."

Is this a new Flickr account? I'm not sure, but I think you cannot link to photos from the outside until your account has been declared as "safe".

What you need to do to see the problem is to clear your browser cache and all cookies, log into Railwire and view this thread. What I suspect is happening is Flickr/Yahoo has set a persistent cookie (even after logging out) that identifies you and allows you to view your own content from the outside. Delete that cookie, and it's likely you'll see the issue.

When I (um, we) click on your photos and select "view image" from the pulldown menu, I'm directed to https://s.yimg.com/pw/images/photo_unavailable.gif

Which looks like
