Rich,

Thanks for asking.  Nothing is new other than I did receive an order from MBK this week that included some Grandt Line enginehouse windows.  I received some brick styrene a while back, so, hopefully, I can make an attempt at scratchbuilding the actual structure sometime soon.  In the meantime, the cardboard enginehouse is still in service.

I can't post pics from home anymore, because the eight-year-old Macbook died this weekend.  But, I am able to get photos on my phone uploaded to Photobucket and then paste links from Photobucket to here on my work computer.  That said, thanks to seusscaboose tacking on to his order for a Hex Frog Juicer, I received a single Juicer to hook up the last turnout on the Seaboard Central.  Now all nineteen turnout frogs on my layout are powered.

This is the single Juicer.  It's not nearly as economical as the Hex Frog Juicer, especially if the larger Juicer is ordered in bulk, but I had the chance to power the last turnout and one single Juicer didn't break the bank.  I just took some double-sided tape and stuck it under the HCD not far from the turnout and a power source.  Just takes three wires.

The curved turnout that Chris333 built is now wired up and painted.  Because I was lazy and installed the turnout before soldering a feeder underneath, I had to try to make the feeder as inconspicuous as possible.  If you look to the right of the frog, you'll see it soldered to a PC board tie.  Not the best situation, but I think paint and ballast (not to mention this siding will get buried in some foliage) should camouflage it nicely.

Thanks for thinking of me.  However, thanks to the generosity of our very own RockGp40, I've already got one.   :)

I have plans to weather the snot out of this one.  It's technically out of my era, so some heavy weathering will fix that.   ;)

You could remove the roof walk, patch the holes in the roof and call it a Heritage painted boxcar  :D

Seriously, I have actually thought about what this car's condition could have been, if it somehow avoided the repair shop and was able to keep its original paint scheme.  This, of course, means that the running board would probably not have been removed, which, I think could be plausible into the 1980s, especially if the car wasn't seeing interchange service anymore.  It's also the only car I have that has a running board, so it would certainly represent the minority in a reasonable percentage of my fleet.  I think I will even keep the original SAL reporting marks.

Some new acquisitions in the form of Trainworx quad-bay hoppers expanded the coal hauling fleet on the Seaboard Central this week:

I'm so glad that I was able to tweak on these SD50s a few months ago and get them running reasonably well, because hauling coal was their bread and butter:

Hard to tell if that's coal or coiled steel...

Yeah, the stock loads are terrible.  They're supposed to represent flood loaded coal, but they look more like someone's been baking brownies.  :D  Those loads will be taken care of in due time.

That's pure sex right there! Any possibility of posting a minute or so video of coal hauling hotness??

On a side note, I musta missed it but what was the issue with the SD50's?

Dave
Have you considered Hay Bros. loads? They are a bit heavier and look better than the stock loads.

If you don't see what you need, a simple phone call / suggestion might result in a new product release ;)

They seem to have everything

Yes, I have Hay Bros. loads in about half of my hoppers.  They are the best looking loads I've seen.  I also have some sand loads from them.

I just bought some black art sand tonight and am going to try to glue it over the stock load for a temporary improvement until I get around to ordering all of the loads I need.  Thanks for the link, because, if my "modified" loads don't work out, it looks like Hay Bros. has what I need.
