I asked this question before, but the post got buried in between other conversations and no one responded. So, I'll ask again, reminding you that I am red-green colorblind. What color do you all see for the brick and the trim in the photo photo in the previous post by @chicken45? There's no way that I'll be able to do the fancy paintwork on the bricks around those windows and doors, because my "bricks" are way oversized and do not line up as nice as the prototype's. I'll cheat and just paint the windows and doors that trim color. To me, the bricks look white and the trim is red. Correct? What shade of red? Thanks,DFF
Thanks for all of that, @wm3798. To complicate the matters, here's a picture from 1986. It has the multiple planes and at least the middle section is somewhat curved:Also, as you can see, in 1986, the roof was not standing seam metal but was diamond-shaped shingles. I couldn't find anything in N scale to recreate that, short of shingling the roof by hand. That's not going to happen. Thoughts?DFF
You know, in that photo, they just look like unpainted red brick similar to the chimneys.
I have to admit that I always thought the building was white, but looking at the crossing gates, the roadside posts, and the "Aberdeen" sign, it clearly is a shade of gray. DFF
Whatever colors they are. Good luck painting that!
Also, the window casings, doors, fascia, gutters and downspouts appear to be white making the siding color standout even more as gray.Reminds me of my beloved Washington State Cougars.
Aye and the drip edge is red too!
