Second new EXR car with body-mounted couplers announced

In the Jan/Feb issue of the N Scale Enthusiast Magazine, ExactRail has a full page product spotlight on an Evans/USRE 5277, early version.  The model is pictured in the Rock deco scheme and has  body-mounted couplers.  Close up detail photos of cars in the LA & Midland (light gray) and LEF&C (yellow) paint schemes are present as well.  Since these haven't been mentioned on the website or in other magazines, they most likely will be officially announced/displayed in Springfield.

They do things a little different, they usually have an ad in one or more of the N scale magazines with stuff in it that hasn't been announced yet. Hope they have some more 4427's at the show too!

Sweet! i was hoping to see the Evans USRA cars.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Been hoping for the combo door boxcar in N (CN, ABOX, MDW), so this isn't exactly whoo-hoo news to me. Still... RBOX, LOAM, and BN versions will find their way to my fleet I suspect.

Okay, for the great multitude of the unwashed masses, what the heck is an Evans/USRE? 5277?

ExactRail had a bit of a dry spell, but I do like how their product ride nice and low on the trucks and the over details are very good. My understanding talking with them at Trainfest was that we should expect to see all the previously released stuff run again with the updated couplers (and presumably new road numbers and some new paint schemes?). Plus new stuff as well. My guess is anything they did that was popular in HO scale that hasn't been done to death by some other n scale manufacturer is a likely candidate.

Now that this is officially announced, all I can say is: WTF?  Can someone at Springfield ask them why 4* of their 11 N scale body styles duplicate perfectly good (even outstanding) existing models?  I like their work, but this is just irritating.

* The list:
- Trinity 5161, comparable to IM's fine model, but no etched roof walk.
- PS-2CD 4000, BLMA has an outstanding one
- Trincool 64', we all know this story
- Thrall 2743, Atlas has an excellent one

What a waste of talent and manufacturing bandwidth.

Probably the same explanation that we've gotten before.  Some of the N scale cars have been tooled or partially tooled for a while.
