Got my new MT paired window coaches in the mail yesterday.  Plan on stripping them down and painting them MILW orange on Sunday.

Life is good!

Nate; Do you have any reference photo's for the Mil Rd paired coach...?  I did a Mil Rd sleeper (Watertown) and would love to add a few coaches for a local....

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

M.C., that's a beautiful boxcab... reminds me of the shays that the NYC cowled so as to not spook horses...

I have a couple... though its worth noting that these cars formerly had the Gothic style windows with the upper plated over in these views...

The MT coach ould be a reasonable enough stand-in...

I wanted to put a quick continuous running layout into operation. So I am throwing a 2' x 4' roundy round layout together to keep me busy. Over the last month I have spent no more than 4 hours on it.It's portability allows me to take it off the work bench and work on it wherever I want due to it's light weight and overall size. The feed mill is an old scratchbuilt structure I designed and built years ago.
Next up will be the scenery etc-

Decided to work on some trains after 3 months. Think of it like a New Endland Kingsbury Branch...still waiting on a package with my UPS trailers and Atlas mills...took 3 days to get thru the Baltimore sort facility  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

See where I come from we just call it mac and cheese, but I'm pretty sure it's a yank import thanks to phillip morris the good people at kraft.

my weekend has involved my horrible retail lacky job but I did clean up my layout enough to actually have a yard, just got to secure the track, wire the thing and set up the mechs for the points. It only took me a year but it's starting to look like a layout.

Had some serious train fun this weekend.  Got to see my old friend and former drummer at the local train show (we were the train nuts in the band) and had a great time.  The kids dug it, too!  My little boxcab saw some action on the N-trak layout:

Not much trains for me this week. I spent the day working on one of my computers though. I have had some issues with my two year old MSI netbook, and decided to fix the thing. The battery was dead and the power adapter is on its last leggs so I got replacments at Amazon.

Other than that, the compuer was overheating due to dust build up and the fact the system is overclocked 25%. I washed the dust out and added small heatsinks to the heat spreader (a small aluminum sheet that sits on the CPU and other chips).

Result? Its working better than ever and running much cooler.

Say what you want about the crappy little netbook, it is still 100 times more useful than a tablet.

Kinda like the way you keep looking away

It's not modeling, but I helped out with this yesterday:

why didn't you just hook it to a train and have it shipped?
