Or black...

I've always heard and read it was anti-skid (sand added to the paint)... and it makes sense.

Those look terrific.  I also got a few ordered from Chuck.  First thing would I'll do is dirty up the white anti-skid along with some other light weathering.  Bout time we earlier modelers get some decent TT equipment.

One thing is certain... IF I were modeling a later era I would seriously look at these cars.  I remember well these cars on the Trailer Train that use to run Salisbury, N.C. to Knoxville, Tn. in both the boxcar red and yellow scheme and I know that Southern Railway's Piedmont (in the Amtrak era), and the Royal Palm and other trains (in the late-60s) had these in tow on the rear end of these trains.  GN's secondary mainline train (can't remember its name for some reason) also had these in tow in the late-60s.

I'd almost forgot about them being on the rear of the Piedmont.  Was riding that train Southbound out of Alexandria, VA to return the same day (you could do that then) on the Northbound counterpart.  Train stopped  a couple miles from the joint Amtrak/Southern station and picked up 3 or 4 of these cars.  I went outside to watch them hook up the cars and asked the conductor what the trailers were carrying.  He said "thread".  All the trailers were carrying thread to the mills in North Carolina.

They look absolutely fantastic...  but they're also taking a very long time.

Don't worry, this is BLMA, not Broadway.  If it's taking longer, it's because it's being done right, not lurking in a shroud of mystery.

As long as they're here before Trainworx gets to the Trailer-Train scheme on their 85'ers, I don't care.

I don't have any trailers anyway  so maybe I can get something going in that department.

I'm looking forward to seeing both the BLMA and TrainWorx cars, especially in TT yellow.

These cars are going to be stellar 8) along with the trainworx cars and the new Atlas car. I'm going to have an awesome late 70's intermodal train!

They look absolutely fantastic...  but they're also taking a very long time.

For what we pay for these things... I'd rather a manufacturer take their time and properly research a car, it's features, it's paint schemes, etc rather than rush a half-arsed product out the door...
