Can't access the members to see if their real name is posted there . We can do that on another forum and not sure if we could ever do it here . ( You will understand my innocence and non-threat in this quest Saturday )

Every time?

Yes, every time.

I am also connecting via a mobile usb stick (cell connection). Would this have any impact?

How about speed issues?  This is the same server that hosts weatheringfactory.com, which I always thought was slow.  I'm now thinking that Wordpress is slow... :-\

Forum speeds are decent and seem a little bit better than before. Some of the WordPress designer templates are very, very slow. They were made by designers rather than programmers and reflect that.

WordPress setup correctly can be quite quick. Problem is that a lot of the decent looking templates are severely bloated.

Send me a PM if you want to chat about it.

I changed the caching model.  It seems to be worse (ie, happen more frequently) on busy days.  I don't know if it's fixed, but we'll see.

So I went in to post a reply to the N scale question of the week this AM, and all the tools that normally populate the top of the Reply box are missing.  I can post replies (!) but can't link, add photos, etc. I'm working from my Dell desk-top and using Firefox.  I logged out and logged back in, to no avail.

Yes, I have one. Why is everybody's mailbox saying full? Are there stricter limits to the number of saved messages allowed?

Just wondering...

I've gotten the same message that David has periodically as well.  I only use Firefox if that is any help.

I forgot to copy it, but when I went to the "Unread" page, https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?action=unread, I got a 500 error. No PHP error codes like the others, just a straight 500. This happened within the last 10 minutes if you can check logs on your account,

500: Internal server error

This error is generated when a script running on the server could not be implemented or permissions are incorrectly assigned for files or directories

Troubleshooting suggestions:

Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.

Ensure that any CGI or Perl scripts have at least .755. permissions.

If trying to run PHP and you get this error, you may have an invalid php.ini in your /cgi-bin, or may be missing your php.dat file in this folder.
