we should discuss it in a few weeks when ya come over...   not sure about it to be honest, it looks kinda too thick...  however, i am always willing to discuss....   the 1/2 inch would definitley look beter than 1/8 inch... that's for sure.

I didn't catch this topic until now, but if you end up needing custom fabricated plastics, try Capital Plastics in Beltsville http://www.capitalplasticsco.com/. It's been a long while but I have had some custom heat formed 1/4" stuff done by them, like 5' domes. They weren't the highest quote and they did a great job quickly.

the ONE bad thing is that it does (in some places) limit the photo options.  Then again, the alternative is a 5 foot drop to the floor.

Just unscrew the plexiglass to get a photo from that angle...

Any local hardware store that does window and storm door repairs will be able to furnish plexiglass in the size that you need. 1/8" should be OK for facia trim and it can easily be painted on the backside to make it opaque to viewing. I use it and I am very pleased with the results. Be sure to drill any holes very slowly with light presure so that you do not fracture the area. 1/8" will easily form a 9" diameter circle and so should be able to conform to your requirements.
